Check the packaging for the base material.

Putting Them On

Start with clean, dry skin and nothing slick on it: no lotion, oil, sunscreen or powder. Peel off the backing, center the cover over the nipple, and press it down from the middle to the edges, holding for a few seconds. Smooth edges lie flatter and stay put longer. If you are trying adhesive covers for the first time, or you have sensitive skin, do a patch test with a small piece of the adhesive on your inner forearm and wait to see whether it irritates. If it does, skip them.

Removal and Aftercare

Go slowly. Peel from one edge, supporting the skin around it, and use a little warm water or baby oil to loosen the adhesive if it holds tight. Rushing causes the discomfort people associate with adhesive covers. Afterward, wash the area gently and let it breathe. Store unused pairs flat in their packaging, somewhere cool and dry.

Planning Your Look

Decide what you want the covers to do before you head out. They can sit under a sheer top, peek out from a halter or strappy outfit, or be the main event with nothing else on top. Try the look in good light before you leave the house, and bring a spare pair if you plan to be out for a long night.

Making Them Last

A few habits help adhesive covers stay where you put them. Put them on shortly before you go out instead of hours earlier, keep the area dry and free of lotion, and pat the skin dry after showers or swimming before you reapply. Avoid rubbing or picking at the edges, since that lifts the adhesive. If you plan a long night, carry a spare pair in case you want a fresh start.

Sizing and Coverage

Look at the dimensions and coverage figure in the size specs and compare them with how much you want to cover. The overall size is the size of the whole design, while the coverage figure, where given, is the area that actually sits over the nipple. If you prefer more coverage, pick the larger of the designs you like. If you prefer a little less, look for a smaller one.

Good to Know

Explicit Brands ships every order in a plain, unmarked box, with nothing on the outside to hint at what is inside.
