Picking your size

Use a soft tape measure. For the bust, go around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level and snug without squeezing. For the waist, take the narrowest part of your torso. For the hips, measure the fullest part, usually about eight inches below the waist.

If you land between two sizes, remember that a teddy has a torso length as well as a width. A longer torso usually wants the larger size, even when the width says otherwise.

Wearing it

Step into the teddy, draw it up and put your arm through the shoulder side. Zip it slowly from the bottom and check that the zipper sits flat before you let go. Because the crotch is open, you can wear it with or without anything else, and it holds up to being worn alone.

Care

Check the label. If you aren't sure, hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, press out the water without wringing and lay it flat to dry. Zip the zipper before washing so it doesn't catch the mesh. Skip the dryer; heat is hard on mesh and elastic.

Styling notes

The berry color is a strong one, so keep whatever you wear around it simple. A robe over the top works for the walk to the bedroom, and a long coat works if the night is going somewhere else. Mesh shows what's underneath, and a one-shoulder line asks for a bare neck and nothing fussy on the covered side.
