Picking your size

Take bust at the fullest point, waist at the narrowest and hips at the widest, all with the tape held level. Then add a torso measurement: shoulder, down over the bust, to the crotch and back up to the same shoulder. A teddy that's too short in the torso pulls on the strap, and one that's too long sags. The 5% spandex lets you go close, but if you sit between sizes, the larger is usually the more comfortable one for a one-piece.

Care

Start with the label on the teddy. When you're unsure, hand wash nylon blends in cool water with mild detergent, skip bleach and fabric softener, and dry flat away from direct heat. Don't scrub or iron directly on the print, because that wears down a printed finish. Store it folded or hung, away from rough fabrics.

Try it on at home first. Confirm the fit, test where the strap sits and make sure the neckline stays put when you move.

Getting the print to show

Reflective prints respond to light from the front. Direct flash, a phone torch or a bright beam gives you the effect, while dim, soft lighting won't.
