Furlush Splash Blanket Medium

Spills are the point of this blanket. The Furlush Splash Blanket is waterproof and stain-proof, and it has two faces: a plush velvet side, and a soft faux rabbit fur reverse. Lay it on the bed, the couch or the floor, and whatever happens on it stays on it. That's the idea behind a splash blanket, and the dressing around it is softer than you'd expect from something that does a protective job.

This is the Medium, 1.2 meters by 2 meters (47 by 78.5 inches), which the maker describes as long enough for full-body massages, deep stretching or couch snuggles. It comes in black, chai and emerald green. The style is non-bonded, which means the layers are sewn at the edges only, so the top and bottom fabrics move independently. That gives you a softer drape and plusher texture. The tradeoff is that the waterproof layer is fixed to one side only, so lay the blanket out flat for the best coverage.

The material is 100 percent polyester, and it's OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. We carry the Furlush line, and the Medium is the size that covers most of a person lying down, with a bit to spare. Picking your color

Black hides stains and goes with a dark bedroom. Chai is a warm neutral. Emerald green is the bold one. They share the same construction, so the choice is about your space. If you're not sure, black is the safe pick.

Using it

Lay it flat with the waterproof side down, on whatever you're protecting. Smooth out the wrinkles so the protective layer covers the area, since a fold can let a spill creep around the edge. Keep sharp objects away from it. If you use oils or lube on it, wash it soon after, since leaving residue to sit is the quickest way to shorten the life of any fabric.

Care

Wash with your usual detergent on a regular spin cycle. Don't soak it, and don't use fabric softener or bleach. Tumble dry on low for no more than 30 minutes, or line dry in the shade. For a spill, wipe it up first, then wash.

The blanket packs down small and ships in a plain, unmarked box. Nothing on the label mentions waterproofing or play.
