If you are between sizes, think about how you want the kilt to hang: a closer fit sits higher, while a looser fit hangs lower.

Leather rewards a bit of care. Keep it dry, wipe it clean with a soft damp cloth, and let it air dry away from radiators and direct sun. A leather conditioner now and then keeps it supple. New leather also softens as you wear it, so give it time to break in.

Store it well. Hang it or lay it flat somewhere dry and away from heat, and avoid plastic bags that trap moisture. Keep it away from sharp objects, which can scratch or mark the surface, and from other colored items that could transfer dye.
